Rosen Bodywork
"Rosen touch is a gateway to our unconscious. It is also a gateway to profound relaxation & comfort, the kind of comfort which comes from simply being who we are."
Rosen Method is distinguished by its gentle, direct touch. Using hands that listen rather than manipulate, the practitioner focuses on chronic muscle tension. As relaxation occurs and the breath deepens, unconscious feelings, attitudes, and memories may emerge.
Marion Rosen developed Rosen Method Bodywork out of her 50 years experience as a physical therapist and health educator. Her unique approach to bodywork and movement has earned her recognition as a leader and originator in the field of body-oriented therapies.
Margee and Rosen Bodywork
I have been passionate about lifelong learning and development and have devoted the past 30 years of my life to the process of healing and recovery. While I had heard of Rosen method, when a client handed me Marions' book, her disarming openness and humility came through her words. I scheduled a Rosen session with a seasoned practioner, who was still actively practicing Rosen Bodywork at 80 years old.
Her touch and presence swept me off my feet. With a thriving psychotherapy practice and three kids to keep me running, I wasn’t looking for new work. However, the internal pull towards Rosen Bodywork was undeniable. When my wonderful practitioner moved away, I became a student of Rosen Bodywork, to stay connected with the rich Rosen experience.
After four years of supervised apprenticeship and extensive hands on experience, I was a certified Rosen practitioner. The journey was one of the richest experiences of my life. Rosen is about love, relationship and intimacy, and caring for another person through meaningful, conscious touch. Rosen touch is a gateway to the unconscious, but it is also a gateway to relaxation and comfort, simply being, and being who we are. My Rosen journey has brought me joy and a fullness in my life I’d dreamed of, but not experienced beforehand. It is a wonderful complement to my psychotherapy practice; even more important, it's enriched every avenue of my life.
